Artist Statement

My acrylic paintings combine strong compositions, vibrant color and textured surfaces. My ‘style’ is both sharp and rough edged, modern and primitive. This contrast infuses my art with an energy that draws the viewer in.

I know my creative talent is a gift from God, so I enjoy creating art that is happy and uplifting. I do this by tapping into my imagination or from seeing an image that sparks an idea, then reshaping it to fit my vision. My love of music, especially blues and jazz is reflected in many of my paintings. I also frequently express my sense of humor through my art.
